Anatomy of typography

Here is my visual guide to the anatomy of typography for designers.

You probably know the difference between serif and sans-serif fonts, but typography is so much more than that. Understanding the genetics of type will allow you to see what is right and wrong and use it efficiently. Just like it’s essential to learn the anatomy of a human to become a doctor, you should learn typography if you want to be a good designer.

The utmost basic and important element of typography is the letter, and each letter of the alphabet is distinguished by its unique part or letter form.
